Gistory

 

This start-up journalistic endeavor was the brainchild of Zahra Rasool, who created an entire news site over the course of the semester. With the help of a team of IT students, she started from scratch and eventually unveiled a working prototype of the site.

 

The landing page is a large map. When users click on a specific country, the map zooms into that country and pinpoints the top five stories in that location. Clicking on a pin pulls up a "story brief," which consisely detailst the context of the event.

 

The project will continue with another team of students next semester, and Zahra plans to run the site from Mumbai, India, where she will be filming a documentary.
